Will Tease and Elfin Brian Join Guild of Jesters

Will Tease and Elfin Brian made Hebden Bridge, Yorkshires Capital of Fun along with many other Jesters from all over England. The Town came out in the rain, the school children warmed to the antics of a giggle of motley clad fools in what was possibly the biggest gathering of jesters so far.
Topper, Jonathan the Jester, Pixie Jester, Jolly Joe, Shaun and many others entertained and delighted. Local clowns and dignitaries all came and took part in the fun.

World Record Attempt
29 Jan 2006

This event will be held on Monday 29 May kicking off at noon to finish at 2pm on Tuesday 30th May 2006

This will be the first time that this has been attempted in the open air on a public thoroughfare and will be a part of Salisbury International Arts Festival.

Parts of the show will be programmed in as individual events in their own right.

at 4pm we will be attempting a world record within a world record. The longest walk of death, juggling knives over as many people as possible.

The show will feature several storys, as the theme of this years festival is storytelling. Throughought the 26 hours I shall not break my engagement with the audience at any times. Even for loo breaks.

The current record is held by Rumplestiltskin of Australia, and it stands at 25 hours.

We are not underestimating the difficulties involved. It's going to be more than just standing in the same place for 24 hours. I have to engage the audience throughout that time, and I'm not going to do a repetitive revolving show. If somebody stands there for the whole show, they will not get dejavu every 60 minutes, I am going write and prepare at least a 25 hour show but I'm hoping to go considerably longer.

Peet Cooper is English Heritage Jester.

Peterkin the Fool succeeds Kester the Jester as The English Heritage Jester.

As is fast becoming traditional with EH's competition, not everybody was happy with the outcome. Least of all fans of Kester the Jester who believe that he won the audience vote. As usual, the "Expert" Judges were no such thing and they were divided.

What is apparent is that the field was of a much higher quality than last years competition although, once again the terms of entry were so bizarrely unfavourable that there was only 2 genuine competitors.

However, EH now boast one of the countries most highly reputed jesters as their own.
